Tom Yam Thai Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 red chillies, sliced
- 3 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 lemongrass stalk, bruised and chopped
- 5 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons of lime juice
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/3 cup of cilantro, chopped
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic, chillies, kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Pour broth into the pot and bring it to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Add fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar. Stir well, and let it boil for another 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add cilantro. Stir to combine and let it sit for a few minutes to infuse the flavor.
- Transfer to bowls and serve with steamed rice.
