  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 cups of water

Instructions:

  1. Slice the lamb into bite-sized pieces and season them with salt and pepper.
  2. Set your pressure cooker to sauté mode and add some oil to it.
  3. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic and grated ginger to the pressure cooker and cook for a few minutes until the onions become tender.
  4. Add the lamb to the pressure cooker and cook it for a few minutes until it is browned on all sides.
  5. Add the biryani spices and cook for another minute.
  6. Remove the lamb from the pressure cooker and set it aside.
  7. Add the basmati rice to the pressure cooker and stir it around to combine it with the remaining spices and oil.
  8. Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, bay leaves and water to the pressure cooker.
  9. Return the lamb to the pressure cooker and stir to combine.
  10. Close and seal the pressure cooker, then set it to high pressure for 25 minutes.
  11. Once it's finished cooking, let it sit for 10 minutes before releasing the pressure.
  12. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pot and mix until fully incorporated.
  13. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot!
